Taste of Toccoa

Toccoa, Georgia

This month’s event has us traveling to the Currahee Military Museum in Toccoa, GA. Gather at the Museum between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM. We will enjoy taking a 1-1/2 hour tour guided by a museum docent. You’ll first see exhibits of local Stephens County history. Major companies here were Coats & Clark (famous for thread), and R.G. LeTour-neau, a major supplier of heavy earth moving equipment during WWII. One display highlights the beautiful black and white silhouettes created by George Hitt. His work is especially impressive as his movement of arms and hands was significantly limited by severe rheumatoid arthritis. The feats of Paul Anderson, “The World’s Strongest Man,” are described in the passageway to the military museum. The meet will be at Rocky Point recreation area. Located on the bluff of West Beach off of Cowpens Rd, west of Gallery Golf Course. Oak Harbor, WA 98278

Directions from the South: Follow I-5 N to WA-20 W/Avon Cutoff in Burlington. Take exit 230 from I-5 N Continue on WA-20 W. Drive to Rocky Point Rd in Ault Field It's off base so no issues getting to it.

Spring Creek Memorial Day Parade and Chapter Meet

Dallas, Texas

For the Members who want to be in the parade, meet at the home of Phill Hoppman’s home by 9:00 AM.  Address is 15411 Leavalley Dr., Dallas, TX.  Group will drive from there to the parade kick-off point a few blocks. The parade will start at 10:00 AM, set up will be at Spring Valley Elementary around 9:30 AM.  This is a neighborhood parade and runs on residential streets for about 20 to 30 minutes. The parade people would like a minimum of five Hudsons. We can have up to five or more vehicles. After the parade at noon, Phil will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a dish to pass. Head count ahead is needed for planning the food. 28th Annual Orphan Car Tour


The scenic roads of Maryland's Baltimore and Harford counties will be the setting of the 28th Orphan Car Tour on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Passing through areas such as Hunt Valley, My Lady's Manor and Worthington Valley, the tour's route will meander past horse farms and estates, villages and pastures. As in past years drivers will receive printed directions so they can take the tour at their own speed, and part of the day will be spent visiting places of interest along the route. A late-afternoon dinner at Friendly Farms Restaurant in Upperco will cap the day's itinerary. Plans are still being worked out, but complete information will be ready by February. Occasional updates will be posted at the Or-phan Car Tour's website,, where a description and history of the Tour event are also available. The Or-phan Car Tour is open to all “orphan” (discontinued-make) vehicles at least 25 years old, and is sponsored by six local chapters of national “orphan” car clubs. 2018 Lively Event

Watkinsville, Georgia

The June Dixie Chapter Meeting will again be a Lively Event!!! The meeting will be on Saturday, June 2, 2017 at the residence of members Earl and Lindy Lively at 1360 Hodges Mill Road, Watkinsville, GA. There will be a few Hudsons on hand for your viewing pleasure and it is hoped that many of you will be able to bring yours. Lunch will be prepared and provided by the Livelys and Jim Sanders and served in the outdoor pavilion on site. We will meet around 10:30 - 11:00 and lunch will be served about noon. Directions: From Atlanta. Travel NE on I-85 and bear right on GA Hwy 316. Go to GA Hwy 53 (Hog Mountain Road) on 316 and turn right onto Hwy 53. Continue approx. 10 Miles to Hodges Mill Road and turn left from Hwy 53 onto Hodges Mill. Go past the 4-way stop sign and 1360 is approximately 200 yards on the right. All are welcome to join the 2020 HET International Meet Committee to view the site and facilities for the 2020 HET International Meet. We will have dinner as a group at the hotel for those that choose to do so from the menu. We will preview the facility to show how it will work for the International meet. We will tour the facility around 2:30 and we would appreciate questions, helpful comments, suggestions and volunteers to make this another great Hudson International meet.

2018 Orphan Car Display

Kirkwood, Missouri

This is a joint meet of the Gateway Chapter and the Gateway AMC Club will be held at the National Museum of Transportation, 2933 Barrett Station Road, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. Stop by The Taneytown History Museum at 340 East Baltimore Street as we present Hudson Day! See several old Hudsons visit the museum which was once a Hudson car dealership. On display inside the museum there are will be “A Century of old toys. 

One of the cars was actually sold by Mr. Martin Koons who was the Hudson dealer in Taneytown from the 20’s to the 50’s. At 12-noon, the owners will be present to tell us about their individual cars. Studebaker Grissom Air Museum Meet

Southern Indiana/Kentucky Chapter is invited to join three Chapters of Studebakers, Packards and Avantis at Grissom Air Museum on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018.

8:00 AM - For those who want to join us for breakfast we will meet at the Dutch Café across US 31 from the Air Museum.

9:00 AM - We will start placing the cars on the display field and among the airplanes. There may be some time restrictions on the placing around the different airplanes to allow for photography.

1:00 PM - Picnic lunch will start with carry in by those attending, so bring a dish and your lawn chairs. Meat, drinks and all else will be provided by the hosting Chapters.

July starts another new year for the So Cal Chapter of the HET Club. That means it is time for our Annual Meeting to compare notes, kick tires, elect new officers, break bread together, renew memberships and generally relax and have a good time.

This chapter has been doing this for over fifty years. The Board of Directors had a luncheon meeting recently and kicked around ideas of what the Annual Meet should be this year. Bring your vintage vehicle to be part of our show or just drop by to view the beautiful collection of vintage cars and aircraft at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, 9280 Airport Rd, Mount Hope, Ontario from 9am – 4pm.   Due to the overwhelming response of vintage cars last year, this year - VEHICLE PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!  Car owners may take pictures in front of a vintage aircraft for a minimum donation of $5 to the Museum. We consider a VINTAGE vehicle to be one that was manufactured 20 years ago or more (so 1998 or older). The 18th annual Cruisin' on Main Street event, presented by Taylor Rental Party Plus, and fueled by CITGO Fueling Good, returns to Downtown Manchester on Sunday, August 5th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain dates will be August 12th and 19th. This one-day show, one of the largest cruise shows of its kind in the Northeast, will display antique and classic cars, trucks, sport cars and street rods - 1987 and older. Since 2001, Cruisin' has showcased more than 14,000 vintage vehicles to the delight of over 400,000 spectators. There will be food and music galore. Miss Connecticut will make an appearance, courtesy of CITGO Fueling Good. Spectator admission and parking is free.

43rd Annual Meet of Southern IN/KY Chapter

Loganport, Indiana

The Southern Indiana Chapter’s 43rd Annual Meet will be held at Rick and Susan Crawley’s home, 6062 Logansport Road (old 24), Logansport, IN, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  We will have our annual business meeting and election of Officers for our Chapter. Bring a dish to share, your Hudson or other collector car and lawn chairs. The Crawleys will provide the meat and drinks. They will display all of their collector cars. Crawley’s home is located 3 miles east of Logansport on old 24 (now Logansport Road), 8 miles west of Peru. There is a big yard, plenty of parking, shade and trailer parking. There are inexpensive hotels in the area. If you arrive on Saturday evening, plan on meeting at Rick and Susan’s by 6:00 PM to travel to a nearby restaurant for dinner. The Southern Indiana /Kentucky Chapter invites you to its Fall Meet on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Bloomington, Indiana at the home of Marcia and Tim Lloyd, 3150 High Point Lane, Bloomington, IN  47401-9605.   Scenic Bloomington is home to Indiana University and is located 50 miles south of Indianapolis.  The fall colors will be beautiful.  Come any time after 10:00AM EDST to Tim and Marcia's house for a noon lunch, tire kicking, visiting and a short Business meeting. For many years the Orange Blossom Chapter of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club has sponsored a multi-day Winter Meet. A number of years ago the Meet became known as the “Meritt Marks Memorial Winter Meet” in honor of our HET Club’s wonderful and gra-cious Founding Father.
